A lesson in goal-setting can be learned by purchasing a phone for less than P23,000. It's tough to find a phone that has everything at this low price, but you should be able to find a great phone that does the things that are most important to you.
The trend of upgrading low-cost phones has been going on for a few years, with firms like Apple, Google, and Samsung manufacturing smartphones that may meet your demands for a fraction of the price. Other companies, such as TCL, have begun to sell directly to develop their own brand, and OnePlus is making a comeback to the lower end of the market.
Most consumers expect the same qualities in a sub-P23,000 gadget as they do in a flagship: a long battery life, a great screen, a good camera, and solid performance. It's difficult to obtain straight A's in all of those areas, but if you can figure out where you'll put the inevitable B grade, you'll be able to get the phone you need.
GOOGLE PIXEL 4A
The Google Pixel 4A is the obvious choice if you use Android, want to spend less money, or want the greatest camera. It may not have the largest screen or fastest processor, but it boasts a clean Android operating system that promises app upgrades for at least three years. It's only available in one color: storage black with 128GB for $349.
The Pixel 4A's most notable feature is its camera, which can compete with phones costing $1,500 or more. This is due to Google's excessive use of software image processing—the sensor is actually quite old and not particularly unique. The Pixel 4A can take night photos, perform astrophotography, and has a decent portrait mode. The iPhone SE may not be able to hold its own in terms of video, but it still outperforms it in terms of photos.
The Pixel 4A's additional features are adequate but not outstanding. A 5.8-inch screen, enough RAM to prevent background programs from closing, and a headphone port are all included. There's no wireless charging, no fashionable face unlocking, and the body is built of plastic rather than glass. There are no water resistance ratings for the Pixel 4A. (but a splash of water is probably fine).
However, if you're looking for an Android phone around $500, the Pixel 4A may be your best bet. For $350, you get better tech support and a better camera. There is no such thing as a terrible deal.

APPLE IPHONE SE
For most people, the Apple iPhone SE 2020 is the phone that strikes the right blend of camera quality, build quality, power, battery life, software, and durability. Upgrade to the 128GB storage variant for $449, which is $50 more than the base pricing but well worth it in the long run.
The iPhone SE follows a tried-and-true recipe. It sports the same 4.7-inch LCD screen and chassis that Apple has used since the iPhone 6. That puts the display on the smaller end of today's screen sizes, and it also means the phone's bezels are larger than anything else on the market.
However, you get a lot of benefits for that very comparable phone body. The iPhone SE's best feature is its processor, Apple's A13 Bionic. That's significant because it's the best processor available for any phone, anywhere. Because that's the same chip found in Apple's iPhone 11 Pro, which costs $999 and above. Speed isn't something we usually highlight on phones at this price bracket, but it's nice to have.
For most people, the 2020 iPhone SE is the greatest phone under $500 when purchased as a whole. When measured in terms of cost per year, it is significantly less expensive than the competition because it is likely to survive four, five, or even six years if well cared for. Similarly, it's a good phone in its own right. Apple's clean iOS technology, as well as a huge accessory ecosystem, are all available to you.

SAMSUNG GALAXY A51
The $399 Galaxy A51 Android phone from Samsung could be the best-selling phone of 2020. The Galaxy A50's predecessor exceeded all expectations. For the A51, Samsung focused on a huge screen, long battery life, and a camera. The screen was correct, and the other two are flawless.
The A51's 6.5-inch OLED display is bright and colorful, and it would take a lot of nitpicking to find flaws with it. It doesn't have the same rapid refresh rate as the OnePlus Nord, but Samsung's excellent quality makes up for it. If there's one oddity about the screen, it's that the hole punch for the front-facing selfie camera is surrounded by a chrome bezel. It's obnoxious.
The A51 has a nice build quality, though the back plastic is noticeable. It features a headphone jack and 128GB of storage, which is the minimum storage requirement for any phone nowadays. The battery life should be excellent because to a 4,000mAh battery, but it isn't because it has to power the large screen.
The A51, on the other hand, receives a very huge, very attractive screen. If that's your first priority—and it is for many people—the A51 is a good choice.
ONEPLUS NORD
Support for 5G sub-6 networks and a 90Hz high-refresh monitor are two capabilities found on the OnePlus Nord that are generally reserved for significantly more expensive phones. You will have higher download speeds if you live in a 5G area. However, it is the show that will have a significant impact on your daily life. It gives it a smoother, more powerful feel.
Wireless charging and a Nord headphone jack are the only things missing. The battery life is good, the 6.44-inch screen is large and beautiful, and the software is less obtrusive than its competitors (but not as clean as Google's). The £379/€399 variant has 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, which are both excellent for this price range.
Frequently, phones require you to accept a key sacrifice in order to obtain the functionality you desire. With the OnePlus Nord, there are no major flaws to work with. But it isn't available in some countries. It is possible to import it, however it is not recommended because it will not support the correct LTE bands.

TCL 10 PRO
TCL is most known for manufacturing televisions, but it has also long been a smartphone white label manufacturer. Now it's attempting to establish itself in the smartphone market with new low-cost alternatives such as the TCL 10L and TCL 10 Pro. The Pro is the upgrade select and retail for $449.90, though it can often be found for cheaper.
The 10 Pro appears to be a serious device. Instead of dazzling hues and big camera bumps, it's thin, smooth, and gray. Although it features a 6.47-inch display, this phone's list appears to be shorter than that of other phones. A headphone connector is also included, as well as a huge 4,500mAh battery that should last you all day.
The 10 Pro's biggest feature is its 6GB RAM, which is sufficient for multitasking and should prevent your new apps from shutting down in the background. There's also the 128GB of storage space that's required.
The cameras are uninspiring: a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro. The images you receive will be over-processed, making them appear false.
The TCL 10 Pro's best feature is that it has plenty of RAM for multitasking and a slim, non-bulky design. It's worth looking into if there's a good deal on one.
